Surprise for “Gera Dovana Drift”: race has ended earlier than expected

Every year “Aurum 1006 km Race” takes place in Palanga where the annual Lithuanian PRO league of drifting is held. Everything was going great this year, however, the race did not end well for some at all.

All Day Drift Racing in Palanga

In the 4th stage of Lithuanian PRO Championship, the event was being hosted in the streets of Palanga.

In the competition participated the Kings of Lithuanian drifting: Andrius Vasiliauskas (BMW M3 E92), Andrius Čibirka (BMW E30), Donatas Macpreikšas (BMW 1 E82) and others.

Spectators gathered to watch a competition between pairs such as Kęstutis Kelpša and Linas Klevinskas, Benediktas Čirba and D. Macpreikšas... The audience was intrigued by one particular instance in the race with “Nissan” and “Ford Sierra”.

There’s No Need To Be Sad

Gediminas Ivanauskas says that he wanted to get a revenge because he had zero points after the first round. However, he overdone himself. The racer slided over with his car “Nissan 200SX” next to the “Ford Sierra” and accidentally scratched the fence of the track. The car glided to the slope due to the lack of control.

To continue the race was unsafe, therefore the judges made a difficult decision to stop the competition for more than one hour.

Soon enough, G. Ivanauskas stood up and waved at the audience who were astonished by his strength.

Races were cancelled after the beginning of pair racing, thus participants were awarded in accordance with the results of qualification. The 1st prize has won Arūnas Černevičius with “BMW E36 V8 Turbo”. The 2nd was V. Vindžigelskis and the 3rd pace was won by B. Čirba.
