Difficulty to forecast the “Drag Show Bracket” Races

Difficulty to forecast the “Drag Show Bracket” Races

On Thursday night, “Aurum 1006 km Races” completed the B League of the drag race which are held in accordance with the LASF requirements.

More than 30 contestants tested the 1/8 mile track. Yet even in the short-distance track, the cars reached almost 200 km/h speed.

Unlike in the previous years, this year’s race was focused on the fast-cars which can drive on the street road. Therefore, 4 out of 5 tournaments were made for these type of fast-cars and only one was exclusively aimed at sports cars.

It seems to many people that the most important factor in the drag racing is not the car’s power but the driving accuracy and quick orientation. Races could start in different times but cars could end up almost simultaneously at the finish line.

Mindaugas Beniušis who drove the diesel car BMW X5 in the League of “Smoke Masters” won a victory. He overtook the 2nd place winner Andrius Antanaitis and Saulius Petrauskis who arrived the 3rd in the tournament.

In the League of “King of Street”, the fastest participant was Edgaras Stončius. The second winner was Andrius Antanaitis while Vytautas Opulskis won the third place.

In the “Supercars” League, the winner was Deividas Gailius, then followed Airida Beniušienė and after her Saulius Petrošius.

In the “Sport Eliminator” Championship, Deividas Visockis outperformed everyone while Justas Pečeliūnas and Edgaras Kranauskas followed next to him.

Racers with the most powerful technical abilities competed in “No Brake” league. In the competition, the three “Audi RS6” were fighting for the TOP3 places.

Deividas Gailius won the Grand Finale. He states that the experience gained in the basketball court led him to success. Tomas Petkevičius overcame the 8th-mile in less than 7 seconds, yet he made a mistake in the finale. The 3rd place was taken by Irmantas Burinskas.

In the “Drag Show Bracket’ races, Lithuanian Road Police Service congratulated the winners by explaining the importance of racing on the prepared tracks rather than on the streets.
