Only 100 days to go until the Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook, the biggest race in the Baltic States, which takes place in Palanga on 17-20 July. This year's race will be the 25th anniversary race.
"As we mark this anniversary, it is hard to believe that a quarter of a century has passed so quickly, as if in a moment... As I remember today that rainy evening of August 19, 2000, when the first 1000 km race finished - says Darius JONUŠIS, the creator and main organiser of the event, the head of VšĮ "1000 km races".
"We started preparations for the 25th anniversary Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook race last year, just after the finish of the 24th. Although this year's event is extraordinary, we will not significantly expand the programme of the race festival, which is already very intense and where spectators of all interests can find something to do," says D. Jonušis. - Our goal is to improve the quality of the racing and the surrounding events every year. The quality of the race and the various events that follow it will be truly exceptional this year.
"Although there is still a long way to go before our traditional meeting in Palanga, more than two dozen teams have already submitted their applications and are finalising the necessary registration formalities. Already today I can see that the 25th edition of the race will bring many unforgettable moments and intrigue for the spectators right up to the finish line," predicts race organiser D. Jonušis.
