Before the “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” Qualifying – Fastest Mechanics Awarded

For the 26th year in a row – just as long as the “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” race has existed – the traditional 1000-meter “Volfas Engelman ICE Non-Alco” Mechanics’ Run took place in Palanga. While it’s the drivers who race on the track, motorsport is a team effort, and every crew member plays an equally important role. This run has been part of the event since its inception and continues to attract eager participants every year.

On Friday, just before the qualifying sessions, over ten mechanics lined up for the 1000-meter “Volfas Engelman ICE Non-Alco” race. Their contest took place in front of a large crowd of fans enjoying the ever-popular Pit Walk, which allows spectators to stroll along part of the track and meet the teams up close.

The fastest mechanic this year was Emilis Anisimovas from the “LIK RACING BY DELPHI” team. Second place went to Laurynas Repečka from “Porsche Lietuva 92,” while third place was claimed by Jogaila Baltramiejūnas from “Stokex Circle K Miles Plus.”

Event organizer Darius Jonušis awarded the top finishers with trophies on the main race village stage: “The mechanics’ contribution to a team’s performance is extremely important, and this race is our way of recognizing that. Also worth noting – the very first trophies of this year’s race were handed out to the mechanics.”

Friday packed with action on and off the track

The race village remains buzzing with energy as two qualifying sessions are set to take place, followed by the highly anticipated Super Pole. The top 10 teams from qualifying will battle for their starting grid positions in tomorrow’s 1006 km race.

Meanwhile, several side events continue to entertain spectators: the “Technitis” Slalom for fans, the “Olybet” Women’s Challenge adventure rally, “Porsche Club Lithuania” track sessions, and the fierce competition of “A.R.S.A. Drag” participants all add to the festival atmosphere.
