“Stateta CMO by HMobile” delivered shocking news: A former F-1 driver will race in Lithuania!

“The Stateta BRO by HMobile” team delivered some shocking news today. It turns out that one of the drivers for the “Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3” in the GT3 class will be the legendary former “Formula 1” driver, Jan Magnussen, from Denmark. A star of this calibre has never competed in this race before.

Jan Magnussen’s upbringing and skill

Jan Magnussen, a young talent in 1992, achieved a remarkable feat by winning the British “Formula 3” championship with 14 wins, surpassing Ayrton Senna's record (13.) However, his “Formula 1” career did not work out. He made his F1 debut three years later, replacing Mikka Hakkinen due to illness, but only scored one point during his two-season stint in F1. At that time, he was a test driver for the “McLaren F1” team. Jan’s debut attracted attention the following year. He joined the “Steward GP team”. He spent two seasons in “F-1” and scored one point. Later, Jan joined “General Motors” as a factory driver for more than two decades. Jan switched to cars and went on to win all kinds of long-distance races. He has won the legendary “Le Mans” race four times in the GTS and GT1 classes. He is one of the most long-standing professionals at “Le Mans”, having competed every year since 1999! Jan Magnussen still remains very active in motorsport. This year alone, he has already taken part in twelve races, including two 24-hour races.

Great team

Jan Magnussen will be supported in the “Aurum 1006 km” by his compatriot Anders Fjordbach, who has been racing in various long-distance events for seven years and is a regular in the World Long Distance Championship. In addition to these two professionals, “Stateta BRO by HMobile” will be represented by two Lithuanians – Eimantas Navikauskas and Edvinas Žadeikis. They are also great drivers. Eimantas won the “Aurum 1006 km” race last year. “The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3” will be serviced by the “Haupt Racing Team”, one of Europe's top private racing teams for the marque.
