First-time Slovakian flag hanging in “Aurum 1006 km race“

The biggest racing event on July 17-20 in Palanga “Aurum 1006 km race“ will welcome strong team “ARC Bratislava“. Even though 20 years of racing have passed, the Slovakian flag will be seen for the first time. Hopefully, team members will enjoy the track and will come back after the debut.

Team member holds the track record

Debutant team “ARC Bratislava“ states their soul and idea generator is 57 years old Miro Konopka. Miro trains his 28-year-old son, Mateo. The duet has won many prizes in various European racing events.

Nevertheless, 2 people are not enough to handle 1006 km race, thus, young Latvian talent has joined the team. 25-year-old Konstantins Calko he is very well known in “Aurum 1006 km race“ world.

Konstantins still hold 2014 reconstructed track’s speed record. Instead of the usual 334 laps from 2014, 373 laps had to be driven. The Latvian drove one lap in 1 minute and 07,046 seconds.

Konstantins states that this achievement played a vital role in getting an invitation to join the “ARC Bratislava“ team. He debuted in 2008 and since then only skipped one 1006 km race season.

To Palanga through Le Mans

“ARC Bratislava“ team will compete in GT Open class driving 600 HP “Lamborghini Huracan ST“. What are the goals of the team? The main one is to finish the race as the track is long, finishing it is already a victory. And then we will see, states the team.
