Aurum 1006 km race visitors invited to experience Via Lietuva's interactive road safety zone
In motorsport, safety begins long before the green flag is waved. On public roads, it begins with every driver's decisions. That is the message Via Lietuva aims to reinforce during the Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook race, inviting visitors to experience the principles of road safety through a range of interactive activities.
On Friday and Saturday, the race village will host the Via Lietuva interactive zone, where visitors of all ages will be able to try road safety simulators, test their reaction times, assess their knowledge and take part in a variety of educational activities.
One of the main attractions will be the vehicle rollover simulator, allowing visitors to experience what happens when a car overturns and to understand firsthand the crucial role seat belts play in such situations. Alongside it, a reaction test will give participants the opportunity to measure how quickly they respond to unexpected situations, while those interested can also test their knowledge of road safety.
Younger visitors will be able to enjoy educational games and activities designed especially for children. Meanwhile, adults will have the opportunity to learn more about the "Others Make Mistakes. Slow Down." social awareness campaign, which reminds drivers that even the most responsible road users cannot predict the mistakes of others. Maintaining a safe speed and staying alert therefore remain among the most important principles of safe driving.
"We want to show that road safety is about much more than simply knowing the traffic rules. It is about everyday habits, personal responsibility and making the right decisions behind the wheel. We believe that firsthand experience is one of the most effective ways to encourage responsible behaviour on the road," said Martynas Gedaminskas, CEO of Via Lietuva.
According to Gedaminskas, the Via Lietuva interactive zone has been designed for the whole family. While adults can experience the simulators and reaction tests, children will take part in educational activities that introduce the principles of road safety through play.
"Children are often the ones reminding their parents to fasten their seat belts or keep to a safe speed. We hope that a visit to our interactive zone will not only be an enjoyable experience but will also encourage families to talk about how each of us can contribute to making our roads safer," Gedaminskas added.
The Via Lietuva interactive zone at the Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook race village will be open on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
