„Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook“ offers two days of drag racing

Drag enthusiasts will not miss the 25th anniversary Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook race, which starts on 17 July in Palanga.

This year, the drag racers will compete over two days, starting on Thursday, 18 July.

Organisers have already opened registration. If you want to drive in Palanga, just click on the https://racing.lt/drag link and register for the drag race.

The Lithuanian Police Department has been setting up trophies and other prizes for the winners of drag races for a number of years now, and every year the Chief of Police Vytautas Grašys not only closely monitors this dynamic competition, but also rewards the winners of the race.

This year's drag race, organised by the DragFest.Lt team for the seventh year in a row, will start on Thursday, 18 July, in the part of the track known as the Klaipėda Turn, where qualifying races will be held from 11 am to 3 pm.

The winners of the qualifiers will gather in the evening of the same day (7pm) at their usual place on the main race track, from where live TV coverage is also planned.

The final competitors will compete over a distance of 1/8 mile (201.168 metres).

On Friday 19 July at 10am, drag fans will return to the part of the track where they started qualifying the day before.

Here they will find out who is the fastest on the 1/4-mile (402.336 m) track.

The organisers are expecting drag racers not only from all three Baltic States and Poland, but also from further away, and expect to see everything from Golfs to McLarens, from regular hatchbacks to single-seaters.
