"Aurum 1006 km Race - Leaders battle it out and one of the favourites withdraws
The 25th anniversary Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook race is now underway in Palanga, in the heat of the sun and the cars.
The riders have already covered almost 500 km and the spectators, as expected, can watch the spectacular battles between the fastest riders.
About an hour and a half after the start, and after the teams had made their first changes, the leaders began to change. Circle K miles Plus Racing Team became the race leader, with Simas Juodviršis in the Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II overtaking British Tim Whale in the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3 EVO, who had been the defending champion from the start and who had won the qualifying session, in the STATETA BRO-TOKS by IGNERA.
At one point, a small incident occurred between the two drivers, but the cars were almost unharmed and the drivers continued their race.
