On the eve of the “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” race in Palanga, a new electric car record was achieved. Vitoldas Milius in 4 hours and 29 minutes, completed 106 laps of the track formed in the outskirts of the resort town and drove a total of 286 kilometres. This official record is the longest distance covered by an electric vehicle on a racetrack in Lithuania.
V. Milius was driving the new generation “EV6” electric car from the official sponsor of the race weekend, “Kia”.
Before the start of the “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” Race, another impressive achievement was recorded in an electric car. A “Porsche Taycan Turbo S” driven by Robertas Kupčíkas broke the track time record for an electric vehicle. The electric car completed the entire 2,682 metre lap in 1 minute. 16.132 seconds.
