Variety of entertainment at "Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook"

It's not just motorsport fans who are already counting down the time until the "Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook", the biggest race in the Baltics.

Many people think of this event as not just a race but an actual racing festival, where not only speed and adrenaline lovers will find something to do this year.

For the first time, the "Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook" will be started by Igor Lobanov, pilot of the "Iron Wolf Aerobatics" team. He just a week ago returned from southern Spain, where the Spanish National Aerobatic Championships were held.

On 16 July, the pilot will be flying an "Xtremeair XA42" aerobatic plane, the same one with which he won the Spanish aerobatic championship in the standard "Advanced "category and became the first Lithuanian to win this title.

The event in Palanga will start significantly earlier, on Wednesday 13 July at noon. The technical jury will start their work at noon on Wednesday at the S. Darius and S. Girėnas Stadium. There will also be a presentation of the teams, which will be the perfect opportunity for TV viewers to see the race cars and their drivers up close.

On Thursday, 14 July, a parade of the participants will take place on Vytautas Street in Palanga, where all the participating teams will be introduced to the public, and the first short but exciting and fun "Dynami:t Super Sprint" race will take place, while Ironvytas will entertain the opening participants and guests.

On Saturday evening, the main stage of the "Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook" race will feature the debut of actor Marius Repšys and his band "Basas Pegasas," who performed brilliantly in the TV3 reality show "Lietuvos talentai."

Many attractions will await the spectators in the entertainment area of the race town. One of them is the "Aurum 1006 km race simulator", which will attract probably the largest number of spectators on Friday and Saturday, allowing everyone to complete the entire Palanga’s racetrack virtually. There will also be an exhibition of historic cars and the "Memel Motor Fest."

This year's spectators once again will be deafened by the loud dB Drag competition.

Renaldas Šeinauskas, a driver and sports driving instructor, set a record of 118.18 metres on two wheels in a BMW car precisely one year ago.

He is returning to Palanga, and on Friday, 15 July, he will attempt to set another record at around noon. All the race spectators will be able to witness the attempt or, hopefully, the new record.

It is not simple for even a very intrigued spectator to attend all the attractions or activities in the "Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook" programme. The ever-evolving race radio, which you can hear anywhere in the world, will help you follow all the activities and the race's progress. So tune in to racing.lt/lt/lenktyniu-radijas
