Only two months are left until July 17-20th race in Palanga. This year the race is celebrating the 20th anniversary and teams are preparing for this celebration. In “Aurum 1006 km race“ will start the fastest Lithuanian ring driver Indrė Senkutė-Gedgaudienė.**
“I would not call myself an “Aurum 1006 km race“ veteran” – stated Indrė. By adding that it is only her fifth race. Indrė does not hide the fact that she is a driver from the street, previously not attempting to race in other categories.
Then 16-year old Indrė made her debut in the slalom race. The attempt was not as successful as expected, however, the racing world was not forgotten and as soon as driver’s license was in her hands, Indrė started seriously preparing for races.
“1000 km race in Palanga is extraordinary because every little detail, every little mistake counts”, - states Indrė. – You are not alone on the track, the whole team is working with you and you are responsible not only for yourself but to others as well”. Indrė made her Palanga race debut in 2014 with only women team “Sostena Renault GSR - Sport Team“. Women were not only drivers, mechanics, and team manager as well.
In 2016 – the start with “Helios Sport“ team, driving “Honda Civic Type-R“.
The race was not only a good experience, here Indrė found her husband. Adrenaline, roaring engines that what is uniting them.
In 2017 again with the team “Helios Sport”, nevertheless, this year it was not as successful.
In 2018 Indrė raced with “222” team, driving “Volkswagen Scirocco“. The most successful race – 3rd place in category and 12th in overall race table.
This year I.Senkutė-Gedgaudienė is preparing for “Aurum 1006 km race “ with “DOCK Craft Beer & Burgers by 222“ team, driving the same lucky “Volkswagen Scirocco“. The driver is seriously prepared for the race together with other sportsmen I. Sidunovas, Justas Grendelis.
