Mechanics compete in a running race before qualifying for the Aurum 1006 km race
For the 25th year in a row, the organisers of the traditional Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook race pay tribute to the teams' mechanics.
According to race organiser Darius Jonušis, mechanics are often sidelined when it comes to results, although they are as important a part of the teams as the drivers themselves.
To mark the occasion, a 1000 m race for mechanics was organised on Friday at the race track in Palanga.
