The Memel Motor Festival will be an addition to the Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook anniversary

It has become a nice tradition that the Memel Motor Festival, which is attracting more and more attention from the public, also finds a place in the rich and colourful programme of the Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook race, offering a closer look not only at sports cars, but also at exclusive and interesting city cars.

So what is it about these cars that attracts the spectators, how do they differ from the historic cars and why are they called exceptional?

"In my opinion, an exceptional car is one that makes you want to turn around and at least take a look," says event coordinator Edmundas Dargis.

The difference with historic cars is that an exceptional car doesn't have to be as old as a historic car in the Youngtimer or Oldtimer categories.

"To celebrate the tenth anniversary of our activities and the 25th anniversary of the long-distance race held here, we will start the celebration in Palanga according to the tradition at the Kretinga Winter Garden, where we will move in a united column to the "Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” race track, where we will take a lap of honour and then roll for the exhibition on the viaduct of the Palanga-Kretinga road," says E. Dargis.
