The very intense programme of the “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” race in Palanga was concluded on Friday with the award ceremony of the “Olybet 108 km Women's Challenge” orienteering rally for women only.
Special mention must go to the participants of the Jubilee race. Only crews with at least one member who has participated in the rally for all five years - the length of the recreational rally - were eligible to compete here.
The winners of this category were the “Gerų genų” team - Gabrielė and Jonė Aleksynaitė and Renata Mosiejūtė, who drove a “Seat Leon”, beating the runners-up from “Ladies Power” - Rita Sabaitė, Jurgita Raulušaitienė, Simona Ludavičiūtė, and Lina Juonytė, who drove a “Mazda CX5”.
The third place went to “Jonavos B.O.M.B.A”., which consisted of five ladies - Rasa Juknevičienė, Aušra Bakšinskaitė, Brigita Žliobienė, the team captain, Agnė Janionytė, and Milda Balčiūnaitė, who were all driving “Volvo S60s”.
A big change in this rally was the first ever electric car entry, which was won by the “Super Girls Powered by Autofortas Motors” team - Daniela Aleksandravičiūtė, Urtė Pociūtė, Simona Juočepytė and Karolina Pipiraitė, driving a “Hyundai Kona Electric”. The winners narrowly beat the “Visai normalias” - Raminta Grigaityte and Dovilė Gribulienė, who drove a “Tesla”, and the third-placed “Rally Martens” - Modesta Vedegė and Rūta Varnaitė, who also drove a “Tesla”.
The first-timer team, “Grynomis” driving a “BMW320xd”, Alina Kilsch and Laura Morkūnienė, won the standings. “Run4Fun's” Kristina Makarevičė and Jovita Valaite came second in a “Mini Cooper”, and “Ladies in Red” - Laura Kaminskienė, Eglė Andrijauskaitė, Inga Zimkevičiūtė and Malika Žibė, driving an “MBW 328”, came third.
The team of “Gerų genų” won the overall standings, beating “AAAAguonėles” Aurelija Mickūnienė, Aušrinė and Alginija Mickūnaitė in “VW Golf”. Third place went to ”Ladies Power”.
