Organisers announce the start of the “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” race

The “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” race, the largest motorsport festival in the Baltic States, has started today in Palanga.

The first day of the event, as is customary in motorsport, is devoted to checking the equipment and the health of the drivers themselves, which is the responsibility of the event's administrative and technical committees.

Only after their decision will the teams be allowed to enter the temporary race town, where the champions and prize-winners of the 23rd Marathon Race will be announced on Saturday 16 July.

31 teams will start the race

Chief Technical Commissioner Raul Koov from Estonia and his team have given 31 teams from Lithuania, Estonia, and the Netherlands the right to compete in the race.

110 drivers representing Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, the Netherlands, and Finland will take part in the race.

Only two of the 110 drivers are women. Aistė Antanaitytė Matukaitė and debutant Emilija Ulvydaitė.

“Porsche” is catching up with “BMW” The most popular racing car has remained the same for many years. This year, 11 teams preferred “BMW” of various modifications.
BMW is being challenged in popularity by Porsche, with 7.
