Throughout the weekend, the "Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook" race village was buzzing with a wide range of activities and side events. One of the highlights was the sixth edition of the exclusive Motor Fest car show, which brought together 70 participants and filled the venue with rare and eye-catching vehicles seldom seen on public roads.
As every year, the organizers selected and awarded the most impressive cars on display. This year's TOP 5 included a striking orange Ford Mustang driven by Laimonas Narmontas, as well as a powerful and extremely rare 1973 Ford Mustang, brought to the event by Marius Monkus. Also earning the organizers' recognition was Andrius Antanaitis' Mercedes-Benz G-Class featuring a Brabus body kit and a uniquely vibrant interior.
Fans of racing films could hardly miss the Volkswagen Jetta built as a tribute to The Fast and the Furious. After selling an identical car last year and later regretting the decision, Gaudrimas Rakickas spent the past year hand-building an exact replica from scratch, recreating the iconic white sedan. Completing the list of this year's award winners was Mantas Nagelė's Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder.
"Although the rain caused concern for many, the large number of participants proved that no one was discouraged and everyone still came. We're truly delighted to have so many loyal fans and participants of the 'Aurum 1006 km' race and Motor Fest who weren't afraid of getting wet. Of course, it's disappointing that we couldn't hold the parade on Basanavičius Street this year, but we hope to make it happen next year," said Motor Fest organizer Edmundas Dargis.
