As part of the 26th edition of the “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” race weekend, the “Memel Motor Fest” exclusive car exhibition has once again taken place in the race village. This year, the event gathered 79 different models, including a 1938 Opel Olympia, a three-wheeled Polaris roadster, and many other rare vehicles not often seen on the streets.
The first “Memel Motor Fest” was held in Klaipėda ten years ago, and it has now become a tradition at the “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” event for the fifth consecutive year.
The event’s organizer, Edmundas Dargis, says the idea came from the desire to bring the most beautiful historical cars together in one place, especially at a time when no such event existed: “We decided to take the initiative, and it was a success from the very beginning. By the way, the cars don’t necessarily have to be old – the key is that they catch the eye.”
Visitors to the exhibition can admire a wide variety of meticulously maintained vehicles: from modified BMWs and Audis commonly seen on the streets, to exotic models like Ferraris, Porsches, and even the latest Acura NSX.
Throughout the day, the exhibition featured not only static displays but also fun challenges – including an attempt to set a record for how many girls could fit inside a Volkswagen Tiguan. In the evening, the main “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” stage will host the awards for the most beautiful, memorable, and impressive cars on display.
