Baltic States Decibel Record Set in Palanga – Car Audio System Reaches 170.21 dB

For the ninth consecutive year, the “Audio Freakz Lietuva dB Drag” car audio competition took place in the “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” race village, proving once again that motorsport excitement is not limited to the main circuit. Participants competed with the sound systems installed in their cars across three different disciplines, demonstrating that competition can be just as intense even while standing still.

Competitors tested their audio systems in three categories. The SPL competition measured the highest sound pressure level produced, the Bass Race discipline evaluated the average sound level maintained throughout a selected music track, while the Street Sound category measured the sound emitted through speakers mounted in the open front doors.

The biggest surprise of the event came in the SPL Extreme+ class. Aleksandrs Polakovs, driving a BMW E46, not only claimed victory but also broke the symbolic 170-decibel barrier. His impressive 170.21 dB result set a new Baltic States record.

SPL Results

In the Street Stock class, Anton Vinickyj took first place.

In the Street A class, victory went to Armandas Endriekus.

In the Street B class, Lina Kijut finished first, followed by Mantas Viršilas in second and Marius Skarbalius in third.

The Street C class was won by Rita Navardauskaitė, ahead of Mārtiņš Petrovskis and Zintis Ekmanis.

In the Extreme class, Erikas Gilys claimed victory, with Guntars Rungis finishing second and Aleksejs Odnorukovs third.

The loudest Extreme+ class was won by Baltic record holder Aleksandrs Polakovs. Rihards Rings finished second, while Oskars Jaunžeikars took third.

Bass Race Results

Unlike SPL, the Bass Race discipline rewards competitors for maintaining a consistent average sound level throughout a music track rather than achieving a single peak.

In the Street B class, Lina Kijut finished first, followed by Mantas Viršilas and Marius Skarbalius.

The Street C class was won by Māris Zeltiņš, ahead of Nerijus Bertašius and Rita Navardauskaitė.

In the Extreme class, Guntars Rungis claimed victory, with Tomas Čėsna-Vilkas finishing second.

The Extreme+ class once again belonged to Aleksandrs Polakovs, followed by Rihards Rings in second and Armandas Bagočius in third.

Street Sound Results

The Street Sound competition measured the sound produced through speakers mounted in the opened front doors of the vehicles.

In the Street Sound Stock class, Kornelijus Navalinskas took first place, while Guntars Rungis finished second.

The Street Sound Master class was won by Jānis Straupe. Lina Kijut claimed second place and Arvydas Stakutis finished third.

In the Street Sound Extreme category, Aleksandrs Polakovs secured yet another victory. Marius Grezelis finished second, followed by Karolis Plauška in third.

Over the past nine years, the Audio Freakz Lietuva dB Drag competition has become an integral part of the Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook racing festival. This year's edition stood out not only for the fierce battles across multiple classes but also for setting a new benchmark in Baltic car audio history by raising the regional record even higher.
