New record: car was driving without oil for 2:30 hours

Have you ever wondered what would happen to the car if all the oil would be emptied? How long that engine would last? In “Aurum 1006 km race“ all of the above questions were answered. A new record has been reached - two and a half hours without any car oil.

The magazine “Top Gear Lietuva“ and TV program “Autopilotas“ journalist team has accepted the challenge once they hear that 10 years ago a record has been reached. In 2009 a car in Lithuania was working without oil for 2 hours and 7 minutes.

The record has been broken and on “Aurum 1006 km race“ track when “Volkswagen Touran“ was operating without oil for 2 hours and 30 minutes and 83 kilometers distance has been beaten.

The experiment has gathered tons of spectators. The drivers have stated that they could have gone for hours, however, as it was a late night, they just decided to call it quits and finish the experiment with the result of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
