40 drag enthusiasts expressed their desire to compete in Palanga.
"The Ultim8 Drag by Startline” includes such cars as Mantas Brazdeikis' “JaguarF-Type” with a 5-litre engine and 551 HP, Airida Beniušienė's 550 HP “Nissan GT-R”, and Darius Vadopalas' 670 HP “Audi S8”. Robertas Kukta has the most powerful “Mercedes Benz” with 1060 HP. Not far behind are the “Nissan GT-R” of Kęstutis Volbekas (1000 HP), the “Audi R8” of Irmantas Burinskas (900 HP), the “Dodge Durang” of Egidijus Valutis from Klaipėda, and other cars with the same horsepower. The fastest drag pros compete in the “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” race for the Road Police Service trophies and other prizes established by the event sponsors. Drag enthusiasts were also treated to a unique two-day event. The practice and qualifying session took place on a separate 1/4-mile (402.336 metres) track, while those who qualified for the finals moved to the main “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” racetrack and competed for the awards on a halved 1/8-mile (201.168 metres) section.
Late on Thursday evening, the “Ultim8 Drag by Startline” winners and runners-up were announced.
After congratulating the winners and runners-up and presenting the Road Police trophies, Vytautas Grašys, the Head of the Lithuanian Road Police Service, noted that his service can only rejoice when the adrenaline lovers compete on safe tracks, supervised by special qualified judges, rather than on the road.
