Down the 20-year memory lane
2019 is an extraordinary year in Palanga race history. It is the 20th anniversary, without any stops they were going on for 20 years. The organizer dedicated car sport’s fan, Darius Jonušis, invited everyone to remember all those years, share some photos and memories.
20th year anniversary is not only for the race or the organizer’s working year. The commentator, Saulenis Pociūnas, has been here all those 20 years as well. In this event gathered many car sport’s fans, former drivers and many more interesting people, the discussions were going.
It was fun to remember the very first race with 18 teams. Then the track was finished one hour before the start. In 2008 there was a record breaking participating team number – 78. That year many adjustments to the race event had to be done.
Throughout the years there are many memories. In 2010 it was as hot as 35 C. All the drivers felt like in saunas.
In 2011 we saw spectacular cars as: “Spyker C8 Laviolette“, “Ferrari F430 Challenge“, “Dodge Viper “and many more, however, many turns have happened and “Honda Civic“ won the race.
It is only a few topic that were covered on Friday evening. Many laughs and even more memories.
