On Wednesday afternoon, all the teams that will take part in the Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook race came together in Palanga
The Aurum 1006 km will be contested by 72 drivers and 20 team managers representing eight countries - Ireland, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
For the first time, a Swiss driver will take part in the race.
The current course speed record is 1 min. 05.425 sec. Danish Anders Fjordbach, who set the record in last year's race, plans to do the same this year.
Eimantas Navikauskas, last year's Aurum 1006 km champion, will take part in this year's event with the Juta Racing team, Justas Jonušis and Sims Juodviršius, will drive an Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, and they are considered to be one of the top contenders for the win.
Another team, the Nebankrutuok.lt Club Exit by RD Sings team, which has successfully competed in Europe with experienced riders Audrius Butkevičius, Paulius Paškevičius and Deividas Jocius, will participate with Tim Muller from Switzerland.
The "LGOLED & Rimo Adero" team will be represented for the second year in a row by Aurelijus Rusteika, Mantas Janavičius and Marius Bartkus, as well as British rider Benjamin Barker. The Baltic Caps team will be supported by Dutch rider Max Thiubben, who will ride for the Baltic Caps team of Klaudas Bučinskas and Povils Gutauskas.
Only two of the 20 team leaders in the race are women. "Eligita-Jusema by GSR will be led by Ernesta Globytė and Inga Kačinskienė will manage the Audosta Racing team.
The number of female drivers is even smaller, with only one Joana Survilaitė, who will represent Eligita-Jusema by GSR together with Karolis Gedgaudas and Davidas Ketvirtis.

Tomorrow, 18 July at 10:00, all participants of the Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook will take part in a parade to Palanga's Vytautas Street, where the opening ceremony will take place.
