The only place where the police won‘t charge you for speeding

The "Aurum 1006 km" race is not just a 10-hour endurance race that culminates in a full race weekend. It has become a regular feature of this prestigious Baltic racing festival that it is accompanied by a whole series of smaller events, where spectators of all kinds of interests can find something to do.

Registration has just started for the drag race, which is enjoyed by fans of speed at the beginning of the "Aurum 1006 km" race event and which, according to the organisers, will provide the spectators with no less of an adrenaline rush again this year.

If you want to bring your long and carefully prepared cars to the track in Palanga, just click on the https://racing.lt/en/drag link and express your wish to compete in this year's “Ultim8 Drag”. Anyways, this year, “Ultim8 Drag” participants will again compete for the prizes of the Lithuanian Road Police, whose head Vytautas Grašys not only closely monitors this highly dynamic competition every year, but also awards the winners of this race with trophies.

We will also see which participants and cars will start this year's 17th “Ultim8 Drag”, which is part of the “Aurum 1006 km” race programme, on Thursday 20 July, when registration closes.
This year, like before, the drag contestants will have two days to prepare. Divided into five classes, on the first day the participants will compete for the “Road Police Service” and on the second day for the “Ultim8” trophies.

The practice and qualifying session will take place on a separate 1/4-mile (402.336 metres) track with an 850-metre braking zone, while those who qualify for the finals will move to the main “Aurum 1006 km” race track and compete for awards on a halved 1/8-mile (201.168 metres) course with a 450-metre braking zone. On Friday 21 July, the full day of racing will take place on the ¼-mile (402.336 m) course, where participants will compete for the “ULTIM8” Cup.
