The Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook race, the largest car sports festival in the Baltic States, will take place in Palanga on July 17-20 this year.

It will be an extraordinary 25th race in its history, which has been going on since 2000 and has never stopped. Although there is still quite a bit of time before the race, 17 teams already have started applications.

The organiser of the largest endurance race “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” in the Baltic States since 2000, has already announced that the prestigious, traditional motorsport festival will take place in Palanga on the 17-20 July 2024.

Participants can already register to the annual “Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook” race from 10 January 2024 at www.racing.lt.

“Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook“, the greatest motorsport festival in Eastern Europe, returns to Palanga for the 25th time on 17-20 July!

Just like every summer, the Klaipeda - Palanga - Kretinga motorway will be transformed into the world-famous race track, where there will be no shortage of speed and excitement. In addition to the main 1006 km race, as every year, spectators will have the opportunity to see or even take part in many additional events.

The "Aurum 1006 km powered by Hankook" is the biggest race festival in the Baltic States, and it has been held in Palanga since the 2000s without any interruptions. In 2024, the festival will celebrate its 25th anniversary, and the event organisers have announced that the festival will take place on the 17-20 of July, traditionally in Palanga.

• The teams comprised of 79 drivers and 23 team leaders from Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, the Netherlands, England, and Denmark.

The "Aurum 1006 km" endurance race officially ended on Saturday evening.

The "Stateta BRO by HMobile" team was the first to cross the finish line of the "Aurum 1006 km" race, with the "Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3 EVO" driven by Anders Fjordbach, Jan Magnussen, Eimantas Navikauskas and Edvinas Žadeikis. The main race and GT3 class winners completed the 373-lap course in 8 h. 45 min. 22.118 sec.

A. Fjordbach also set a new course record of 1 min. 05.425 sec. on the 305th lap. He was awarded a prize for the fastest lap in the race.

At 16:25, Jan Magnussen from "Stateta BRO by HMobile" with a "Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3 Evo" completed the 186th lap, marking the "Aurum 1006 km" race's halfway point.

The 1006 km distance consists of 373 laps of the track, each being 2682 meters long.

Nemunas Dagilis ("TDS group-TOKS Racing Team") and Robertas Kupčikas ("Porsche Baltic 91") are three laps behind the lead, while Deivydas Jocius ("Nebankrutuok.lt-Club Exit by RD Sings") is four laps behind.

Martin van de Pavert, Race Director from the Netherlands, was honoured to announce, "Ladies and gentlemen, start the engines!" which is a traditional phrase before the start of the race.

All 23 teams that applied to compete lined up at the start line.

As the first hour after the start of the race drew to a close, and the driver switching requirement approached, Andreas Fjordbach of "Stateta BRO by HMobile," who had started from the first position, still managed to hold it, driving a "Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3 Evo".

Friday's "Aurum 1006 km" event program, full of great tension, unexpected plot twists, and fun attractions, ended with the "108 km Women's Challenge Rally" participants receiving their prizes before midnight.
