Šiemet kaip niekad anksti patvirtinta kitais metais vyksiančio didžiausio automobilių lenktynių festivalio Baltijos šalyse – jubiliejinių, 20-ųjų „Aurum 1006 km lenktynių“ – data.

Jos tradiciškai bus surengtos didžiausiame šalies vasaros kurorte Palangoje 2019 metų liepos 17-20 dienomis. Būtent čia jos debiutavo 2000-aisiais ir per visą savo gyvavimo laikotarpį nė karto nebuvo pakeitusios lokacijos.

There was a racing fight for a winner’s place until the 373rd lap in the 19th marathon races in Palanga. Yet no less different fight was in the other leagues.

The first 3 places coincided in the general competition. The 1st winner who overcame the all time highest record in the races was “Palanga SPA hotel by EMG Motorsport” with 373 laps in 8 h 42 min.

In the 2nd place, “Circle K milesPLUS racing team” finished with the same number of laps, yet they lagged for 1 min while “Palanga SPA hotel 2 by SpeedLover” did only 363 laps. All of the winners in GT leagues drove “Porsche 911 GT3 Cup”.

On Saturday evening, after 8 hours 41 min 59,272 sec and 373 laps, Steve Vanbellingen from “Palanga Spa Hotel by EMG Motorsport” has crossed the finish line first with “Porsche 911 GT3 Cup”.

It is the second victory in Palanga for him. The first one was in 2010.

Yet just before the finish line, the racer knew he broke the record for the shortest race ever as the last one was 8 h 44 min 55,924 sec.

In Palanga, 12 “Porsche” cars have won the competition through the years.

The team-winner has celebrated the victory in the GT class and the qualifying race as well.

“Porsche” and TCR Go Against Each Other

Afer the first hour, the TOP3 included all “Porsche 911 GT3 Cup” cars. In the first place “Palanga Spa Hotel by EMG Motorsport” remained the longest.

“Circle K milesPLUS racing team” is the second while the third place belongs to “Palanga Spa Hotel 2 by SpeedLover”.

Aidas Bubinas, Valdas Jarutis, Vitoldas Milius and Yogendra Pratap finished on Saturday in Palanga. They all broke the record by driving with “Kia Soul EV” 1000 km in 21 h 33 min. They have started on Friday afternoon and spend less than an a day driving the main cities of Lithuania.

On Saturday at 12 o’clock, the racers could finally start their engines on the track.

In front of the start line, the racing teams lined up as usual in accordance with the results of the qualifying races.

Racers and team leaders were congratulated by the Mayors of Klaipėda, Palanga and Kretinga, ex-Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius, Lithuanian Automobile Sport Federation, “Promo Events” organiser Darius Jonušis and others.

The Lithuanian Anthem was played by trumpeter V. Grubliauskas.

On Friday, 59 women’s crew began “108 km Women’s Challenge Powered by Kristiana” rally which was initiated by TV8 channel.

Ladies’ rally attended various representatives of different ages and professions. There was “Lietuvos kelių policija” which consisted of four women who all drove “Audi A6”.

“Spanguolės” team consisting of Lina Kraftė and Greta Vėsaitė drove “Range Rover Sport”.

A lot of audience sympathy received “Moterų televizijos TV8” team with “Kia Ceed”. In the team, TV presenter K. Rimienė said that she respects every opponent but she will not go without a fight.
